Screen Printing

What is screen printing?

Screen printing (is also known as) rubber printing - both are the same.

Screen printing (also known as) rubber printing is the process of applying ink in the form of a design on a piece of fabric squeezed through a screen.

It is like an art on a fabric done by ink squeezed through a screen.

From manual long table printing in 1990s screen printing has now evolved into individual palette based t-shirt fed printing.

This enables sharper precision in printing, exact accuracy in color seating, smooth & flat finish of printing on the fabric.

Designing

Designing

Print design is made in vector format using software like adobe illustrator and coreldraw.

It is advised to save the final design file in pdf format with all the fonts converted to curves.

Perfection, sharpness, precision, and accuracy in this designing process are achieved through the combination of the latest computer-aided designs software and highly skilled human designers.

Color separation

Color separation

Color separation is the process of separating colors for film making.

The design will be separated into each color of the design and a film made for each color.

Film making

The final color-separated design is printed on film through a laser printer or imagesetter.

Imagesetter films are sharper and high resolution than laser printer films.

Screen making

Screen making is the process of making the screens for screen printing on t-shirts

A separate screen is made for each film.

Screen printing

Screens are fitted to the machine individually - one screen per frame.

The print fabric is spread to the palette individually - one fabric per palette.

Required color dyes are applied to the top of the design of each screen.

Color is squeezed through the screen to the fabric through a squeezer.

After one color is finished, the fabric palette is sent through the heat of a flame for drying.

Then, the screen frame is rotated to print the next color.
All the colors are printed one by one.

Fusing

Fusing is the final process of screen printing.

The print finished fabric is placed on the fusing machine.

Fusing paper is placed on the print.

It is then pressed on the print with a high temperature.

Only after fusing, the print is fixed permanently to the fabric.

Digital DTG printing

What is digital DTG printing?

Digital DTG printing (is also known as) direct to garment digital printing.

It is commonly referred to as 'DTG'.

Digital DTG printing is the process of printing on fabric with ink through the DTG printing machine connected directly from the computer.

Digital DTG printing cuts the need for film making, color separation, screen making processes that are mandatory for screen printing.

Unlike screen printing, we can print any number of colors through digital DTG printing.

Digital DTG printing uses CMYK method of the print process (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black.

Bio-wash fabric is recommended for prints done on digital DTG printing machines.

The print fabric is spread to the palette individually.

'Go' and the print is done on the fabric.

Curing

Curing is the final process of digital DTG printing.

The print finished fabric is placed on the belt of the curing machine.

It is then passed through the curing machine with a high temperature.

Only after curing, the print is fixed permanently to the fabric.

Hybrid digital DTG printing

What is hybrid digital DTG printing?

Hybrid digital DTG printing is the most advanced form of digital dtg printing.

Hybrid digital DTG printing machines have evolved with modern print techniques than old school digital DTG printing machines.

This makes the print output very attractive.

The print made on hybrid digital DTG printing machines is very sharp compared to what is done on old school digital DTG printing machines.

The print fastness of the print made on hybrid digital DTG printing machines is very high compared to the print fastness on old school digital DTG printing machines.

There is not even a small fading on the print done on hybrid digital DTG printing machines even after multiple washes.

Remosol dyeing is recommended for prints done on hybrid digital DTG printing machines.
